Terms of Service
Effective 15 July 2026
These terms govern your use of the Loam mountain-bike maintenance app and this website. By installing or using Loam you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use Loam on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial bike maintenance. You may not resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app except as allowed by law.
2. Free app
Loam is free. There is no account, no subscription, and no paywalled features. Donations are entirely optional and unlock nothing. If a part is due, Loam may show a link to a partner shop that pays a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you; that is the only commercial link and it is never required.
3. Service intervals are estimates, not professional advice
Loam is a tracking and reference tool only. It shows service and wear estimates based on manufacturer sources where available and conservative estimates otherwise. It does not give mechanical, safety, or professional advice, and does not replace your manufacturer's manual or a qualified mechanic. You are solely responsible for the actual condition, maintenance, and roadworthiness of your bike. Always verify against your manual and inspect wear parts (fork, shock, drivetrain, brakes, bearings, tyres) by hand or with a qualified mechanic. We are not liable for mechanical failure, wear, injury, or any consequence of relying on in-app estimates.
4. Your data
Your garage and service data are stored on your device. Optional cloud backup is encrypted on your device before upload; keep your recovery code safe, because we cannot recover your backup without it. Connection tokens for Strava or Bosch are held in the platform secure store, never in a Loam account. See the Privacy Policy for details.
5. Third-party services
Optional features use third-party services under their own terms: Strava and Bosch eBike (ride data you authorize), Cloudflare (worker, hosting, encrypted backup), an image-search provider (bike photos), Cloudflare Workers AI (the optional tuning assistant), and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (reminders). We are not responsible for third-party services or content. Your Strava and Bosch data is only ever shown to you and is never sold, shared, or sent to any AI/ML tool.
6. Intellectual property
The app, its design, and its content (excluding your own data) are owned by Loam (Yev Gavrikov) and protected by law. Manufacturer names and models are used for identification only and remain the property of their owners; Loam is not affiliated with or endorsed by any bicycle or component manufacturer, Strava, or Bosch.
7. Warranty disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loam (Yev Gavrikov) is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for injury, property damage, mechanical failure, lost data, or lost profit, arising from your use of or inability to use the app or its features. Because Loam is free, any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.
9. Termination
We may suspend or end the license if you breach these terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The "Effective" date above will be updated, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
